Here's a classic chocolate brownie recipe that's sure to satisfy your chocolate cravings:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8x8-inch (20x20 cm) baking pan.
- In a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl or in a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. If you're using a microwave, do it in short 20-30 second bursts to avoid overheating.
- Stir the granulated sugar into the melted butter until well combined.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture. Mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until the batter is well combined. Be careful not to overmix; just mix until no streaks of flour remain.
- If you like, you can fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts at this point for added texture and flavor.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan on a wire rack.
- Once completely cooled, cut the brownies into squares or rectangles.
