Chicken Wings

Here's a classic recipe for crispy and delicious chicken wings:

Ingredients:

For the chicken wings:

2 pounds (about 1 kg) chicken wings, split into drumettes and flats

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to your spice preference)

For the sauce:

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1/2 cup hot sauce (such as Frank's RedHot)

1 tablespoon white vinegar

1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to your spice preference)

Instructions:

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place a wire rack on a baking she et lined with aluminum foil. This will help the wings cook evenly and get crispy.

Prepare the Chicken Wings: In a large mixing bowl, toss the chicken wings with the vegetable oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Make sure the wings are evenly coated with the seasoning.

Bake the Wings: Arrange the seasoned chicken wings on the wire rack on the baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, turning them halfway through. The wings should be golden brown and crispy.

Make the Sauce: While the wings are baking, in a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the hot sauce, white vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. Stir until well combined and heated through. Taste the sauce and adjust the heat level to your liking by adding more cayenne pepper if needed.

Toss the Wings: Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven. Place them in a large mixing bowl. Pour the prepared sauce over the wings and toss them until they are evenly coated with the sauce.

Serve: Transfer the sauced wings to a serving platter and serve immediately with celery sticks and your choice of dipping sauce, such as ranch or blue cheese dressing.
